Numerous studies show that young adults aspire to wealth and fame. These desires persist throughout our careers, manifesting themselves in salary increases, promotions, lucrative contracts, press articles, prestigious diplomas, selective affiliations, VIP boxes and first-class access. Once basic material needs have been met, aspirations evolve towards a balanced life and personal development.

Achieving material abundance often opens the door to inner abundance. This leads some people to believe that self-fulfilment is a preoccupation reserved for the rich. But is this really the case?

Maslow's pyramid and Stephen Covey's '7 habits' seem to suggest so. Before we can achieve self-actualisation, we have to satisfy a hierarchy of needs: physiological, security, belonging and social recognition. Covey, similarly, stresses that we must first be effective and successful before we can realise our full potential. However, both of these thinkers stress the importance of the final stages of their models. Economic prosperity and financial means provide material security and a degree of social recognition, but do nothing to help us achieve inner fulfilment, kindness, gratitude and serenity.

Only a deep connection with oneself, others and the universe leads to true inner wealth and harmony.

The conscious leader emphasises the importance of realising one's own potential.

To achieve this, they must :

step 1

Discover and use their talents and superpowers, by accepting their emotional wounds and transforming their limiting beliefs.

step 2

Apply their purpose and values, which they refine throughout their lives by learning from their daily mistakes.

step 3

Contribute to the well-being of those around them, including family, employees, society and the environment.

step 4

Persevere in their personal development to become the best version of themselves, inspiring others to do the same through their humility.

Self-fulfilment is therefore a universal quest, transcending material concerns and accessible to all those who seek to live in harmony with themselves and the world around them.
