I've just read a fascinating article entitled "Being Ordinary" on os.me that really got me thinking.

Do I write my posts to be admired, recognised, appreciated, to show that I'm different, unique, better? The answer is yes. And pfff, what a slap in the face! My ego is alive and well, insatiable, driving me to constantly monitor the number of interactions they generate. I have this intense need for others, including you, to think I'm great.

From the moment you take charge of your life and remember that you are your own person and that it doesn't matter if the world doesn't think highly of you, you have imbued yourself with great inner strength. That's when you become truly extraordinary.

The conscious leader develops his emotional maturity and presence so that he is no longer affected by what others think of him. They make decisions based on their noble mission and pure values. He perseveres in his choices while remaining agile in the face of environmental change. They know that criticism, judgement and attacks don't come from those who are more successful than they are, but from those who lack self-confidence and don't follow their own path of light.

The 4th and 5th keys to raising our consciousness encourage us to do just that: respect ourselves fully and respect the relationship, but not necessarily the other person. These keys need to be properly understood because they can stimulate our ego. But when I truly meet myself and understand that I'm in this family, community and organisation to play a specific role, that of moving towards the best version of myself, and that others will constantly challenge my serenity because they're looking after their own path, then I accept and integrate these truths. I become ordinary in the eyes of others and extraordinary in my own.

For my part, I continue to sow seeds of awareness and love. It's my raison d'être and I do it for myself. Writing opens my heart. Sharing opens my soul.
