I doubt it.

John Lennon dreamed of a world without heaven or hell, without borders or religions to defend, without greed or power games. A world of love, presence and peace. He called himself a dreamer, but he believed he was not alone, and he invited me to imagine with him.

At the age of eight, I believed in it. This world seemed obvious, a truth that I wanted to live and create. Today, that dream continues to inspire my daily actions, but I'm plagued by doubts. Reality sometimes seems darker than my worst nightmares.

44 years ago, a ‘madman’ turned off the voice of my dream guide. This man, frustrated by the artist's fame, silenced him, convinced that John had made fun of people ‘like him’. Lennon had become more famous than Jesus and richer than entire nations. The words of ‘Imagine’ were not what the reality of the famous couple showed.

Since then, humanity has faltered. Wars are escalating, a leader convicted of crimes against humanity is outraging other democratically elected leaders. The mental health of young people is plummeting, while artificial intelligence threatens to redefine our lives.

How, in such a context, can we maintain our faith in compassion, unity and detachment?

Let's pause, observe and remember that it's all a game of wounded egos. Everyone, like you and me, is looking for recognition, serenity and freedom. The difference is that the ego seeks them outside, in the eyes of others, whereas they are to be found inside ourselves. No one is fundamentally ‘bad’, but many are just asleep.

Those who understand this message have a responsibility to rekindle hearts. To sing peace. To dance freedom. Every day. Small action after small action. This is what it means to be a living, evolving, conscious human being.

The essence of Homo evolvens is abundance: a life that honours encounters, respects emotions, and attaches itself to nothing but the present moment. This path requires courage, but it offers a promise: that of transforming a dream into a living, shared reality.
