I recently discovered the life of an effeminate boy, rejected by his father, his peers and society. Hypersensitive, he dared to be fully himself as a teenager. A victim of bullying, he preached love and acceptance. His genius inspired artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Prince, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna and many others. Generous and deeply authentic, he suffered in silence at not seeing his call to acknowledge his divinity heard. He sought refuge in drugs, then in the church. His name: Little Richard.
I am everything
Little Richard // The Architect of Rock & Roll
Only at the age of 64 did he receive an award from his embarrassed peers. At the end of his life, a journalist asked him what was most important to him, and he replied: "love". Another asked him to choose between Rock and Roll, a satanic expression, and God. He replied that they were inseparable.
As I danced to his music, I didn't know his story. He walked a path between uniqueness and conformity, freedom and judgment, goodness and ignorance, perdition and holy word, feminine and masculine, love and rejection. An exemplary quest for the winding path we all take. He explored every possible direction to find serenity for himself and his family. In the end, he reminds us that love and the union of all opposites is the way.
At 64, I observe how polarized and separated our humanity is. Like him, we go through great turbulence, destruction and disappointment. These human experiences have a purpose: to raise our consciousness to be fully compassionate, grateful, forgiving and detached. It's crucial to listen to and live our inner voice. This enables us to navigate serenely through life's storms, making the right choices at the right time.
By embracing our creativity without judgment and encouraging diversity in our homes, communities and societies, we strengthen our awareness and ability to inspire trust and commitment. Like Little Richard, by integrating the Conscious Leader's concepts of awareness, serenity and authenticity, we can transform challenges into opportunities for growth and union, reminding us that love and unity are the foundations for collective abundance and fulfillment.
