... and I'm not going to make any friends
Gender balance in organisations is a complex and essential issue, but the way we approach it can reveal some paradoxes.
Yes, women have historically suffered flagrant injustices: pay gaps, lack of access to promotions or strategic projects. And yet, at a time when we rightly value feminine qualities such as empathy, cooperation and intuition, I see an overabundance of initiatives in favour of women. I'm not trying to protect my macho side, but it's crucial that we don't recreate a pattern of power based on division.
Indian sacred texts evoke the concept of Ardhanarishvara, the half-woman Lord who embodies the harmony between masculine (Shiva) and feminine (Shakti) energies. This symbol transcends the battle of the sexes and calls for inner unity: each individual possesses both a true masculine and feminine.
To avoid the pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other, it's time to embody leadership that integrates these two energies. This starts with inner work, because looking for what's missing in yourself in others only perpetuates the rifts.
Develop your inner masculine and feminine!
A balanced masculine knows how to :
1. TAKE PAUSES, cultivate silence to allow inspiration to emerge.
2. OBSERVE WITHOUT JUDGMENT, welcoming reality without distorting it.
3. EXPECT NOTHING IN RETURN and renounce attachment, transcending the ego.
A balanced feminine knows :
1. DECIDE WITH ASSURANCE, triggering creative action.
2. LOVE YOURSELF, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth.
3. RESPECT RELATIONSHIPS, weaving bonds based on compassion.
When our energies merge, abundance blossoms!
- The masculine gives direction and embodies pure, unchanging consciousness.
- The feminine offers movement and gives dynamic and creative energy.
- Together, they create a spiral of personal and collective evolution.
This vision is not about minimising women's struggles, but about preventing the ‘empowerment’ of some from becoming the exclusion of others. In our companies, it's time to move towards a form of governance that transcends divisions and embraces universal, conscious leadership.
True power lies not in gender distinctions but in reconnecting with our collective essence. So let's put an end to the divisions and build organisations where every energy, male or female, finds its rightful place in nurturing a world of abundance.
