It smells like something from the past

At the end of the 1990s, the ‘Y2K bug’ was a source of anxiety for CEOs and CTOs. At the time, I had invested several million euros to quickly replace our IT system. Even if the fear that the old system would fail was unfounded, this pressure pushed us to undertake an unpleasant change that my predecessor had put off for a long time.

Today, AI and its impact on employment, decision-making and social issues is on everyone's mind. Specialists and experts from all fields are feeding these fears and claiming to hold the solutions to future problems.

The good thing about this pressure is that it makes us question ourselves and look forward to change. Whether this change leads to extinction or evolution will depend above all on the state of mind with which we approach this challenge, much more than on the technical or operational solutions. Those who are serene and confident will be able to see opportunities and adapt with agility and speed. Those who are anxious and restless will resist and suffer.
