It's often said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert in a field. That's more than five years full-time or one hour a day for 27 years!

When I browse social networks, I'm struck by the number of so-called experts who, after just a few months' experience, come up with “7 tips for success” or “10 keys to success”.

Like many people, I've been through hardship since childhood, and very early on I looked for solutions to find inner peace. I explored many avenues before discovering the ones that really suited me. It then took me a decade of practice to fully integrate these principles. And yet, even after more than 20 years of working on my 6 keys to serene and conscious leadership, I sometimes feel like an imposter when I share my advice.

But with hindsight, I've realised that the best expert to meet your needs is yourself. The wise can inspire us, but practice makes perfect. Reading theories put forward by people who are still looking for their own answers won't provide you with the solution. It's by connecting with your own experience that you'll find your way.

Only those who know how to listen with their heart and question with their soul can help you find your answers.

What do you think?
