And that's perfect!

I've just started reading an article on LinkedIn. The person who sent it to me likes it, so I figure it's worth a read. The photo is nice, the title and the first sentence grab me. Perfect, I'm confident.

The first paragraph confirms that the author knows what he's talking about. When I got to the beginning of the second paragraph, I started to scroll with my thumb. I keep scrolling... it's long. As long as most of my own posts. When I get to the photo again, my thumb doesn't stop and I've already moved on to another post.

Today I'm in a hurry. As I like the person who shared it, I scroll back up, put a like on it, and continue my frenetic scrolling.

I don't really care! I'm hungry and under pressure, I devour my digital content like fast food, quickly and without really paying attention.

And then I get punched in the face. When I think about the time and importance I put into writing my posts, convinced that my readers are going to savour them like a gourmet meal, while I myself consume other people's thoughts in a hurry and without delving into them.

What arrogance, what naivety!

And yet... it's perfect this way. Yes, this article didn't deliver its content, but it did offer me an insight. And that's much more nourishing for less now. That's probably what I needed: a break, a reflection. As one of my favourite guides says: ‘We are already perfect’. Perfection comes from perfection. If you take perfection away from perfection, it's always there.

Tell me, dear reader, how do you enjoy my creations?

Share your opinion... or maybe you don't care either... and that's perfect.
