The world for Alpha
When the world is stable and predictable, the rules of the game change only slowly, favouring the ‘Alpha’ who, thanks to their dominant strength and instinctive power, consolidate their position at the top. These individuals prosper by maintaining the established order and conquering new territories to perpetuate their hold.
The world for Omega
However, when the environment becomes uncertain, complex and chaotic, the ‘Alpha’ tends to become rigid, trapped in an outdated framework. It is then that the ‘Omegas’, more comfortable with uncertainty and the intangible, emerge. They cultivate openness, listening, co-creation and innovation, relying on intuition to identify and seize opportunities, living in harmony with the flow of life.
Under the governance of the ‘Alpha’, often motivated by a materialistic ego, humanity has certainly dominated the planet, but at the cost of divisions, the destruction of diversity and imposed cultural homogenisation.
Is it possible to have two heads at the helm of a society?
I doubt it.
Some people hope to see two personalities of different energies co-habiting to co-direct a company, or even a transformation of ‘Alphas into Omegas’ and vice-versa. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the question needs to be asked differently... What should be done with ‘Alphas who are too Alpha’ and ‘Omegas who are too Omega’?
Many people advocate conscious and authentic leadership, capable of transcending these paradigms. The ‘Alphas too Alpha’ who resist risk being marginalised or even replaced by robots and AI applications. The ‘Omegas who are too Omega’ will never lead social groups, preferring to look after their own personal development.
Tomorrow's leaders must learn to link their pragmatism with a human sensibility, to connect their practical and rational minds with their vulnerable and sensitive hearts. This is essential for lasting transformation and, perhaps, for the very survival of the human species.
