The cycles of life, as described by traditions such as Hinduism, offer a key perspective: everything is impermanent and reality is constantly evolving through phases of creation, maintenance and destruction. These cycles remind us that peace is not a static state, but a dynamic balance that we must continually adjust.

  1. Peace and trust: an intrinsic quest
Peace is highly dependent on our sense of security and trust in our environment. Trust is easily established when I'm on familiar ground and those around me are like me. I build or integrate a family, a community or a society - an environment defined by linguistic, cultural, belief and geographical boundaries - so that I can let myself go and live in peace as long as I maintain these boundaries. However, the forces of our universe constantly force us to evolve. And this can only happen by encountering diversity, constantly inviting us to awaken by confronting our illusory barriers. Every encounter with a difference, whether it's skin colour, gender, religion, the way a family is run or the way a company is managed, will destabilise our security frameworks.
  2. The impact of evolution and diversity on peace
Diversity is a source of richness, but it also triggers deep-seated fears rooted in our survival instinct. These defence mechanisms, often rooted in our ego or in conditioned patterns, create resistance. These reactions trigger unpleasant emotions that give us the very energy we need to move towards a state of mind of abundance. So destroying old paradigms is not a peaceful process, but it is essential to rebuilding a more inclusive peace.
  3. Learning through cycles
The real complexity lies in our ability to embrace change without becoming rigid. We are often tempted to cling to certainties or habits, but this rigidity leads to stagnation and loss of vitality. By contrast, opening up to diversity and learning to welcome the unknown - while cultivating practices such as silence, observation and compassion - fosters deep and lasting peace.
  4. The principles of PODnow®: a formula for inner and outer peace
The POD100x100+0 formula encourages a mindful approach:
    • Pause: Take time to breathe and respond rather than react.
    • Observe: Recognise our emotions and judgements.
    • Decide: Act in accordance with our values, with respect for ourselves and others, without excessive expectations.

In short, living in peace requires a delicate balance between accepting the chaos inherent in life and actively building frameworks of trust while remaining open to change. It's a continuous learning process, nurtured by diversity, humility and an awareness of our interconnectedness with the world.
